Established in 1972 as a College of Physical Education, Government Graduate College for Women, Township, gained independent status and expanded its academic scope in 2008 with the addition of Intermediate and Degree programs in
general education.
- Spanning 18 acres, 3 Kanals, and 15 marlas, the college is a unique institution in Pakistan, offering both Physical and General Education. To ensure security, it is equipped with surveillance cameras, alarms, fire extinguishers, security personnel, and a panic button.
Recognizing the growing student body, the Punjab Government approved infrastructure expansion in 2015-16, leading to the completion of a new academic building. Since 2018-19, the college has been operating from its upgraded facilities, which now include six independent blocks:
- Academic Blocks – Science Block, BS Block, Old & New Admin Blocks
- Sports Facilities – A multipurpose gymnasium, basketball court, hockey ground, football ground, and a 400-meter athletic track
- Support Facilities – A water filtration plant, tube well, mosque, daycare center, dispensary, and staff parking,a burqa roomfor students ,a canteen ,a college bus
The New Block features four fully equipped science labs, a computer lab, a library, a seminar room, a career counseling center, and a smart classroom(2024). a four-room extension already became functional in 2022, enhancing academic facilities further.
